Applicant Eligibility

Child or grandchild of Golden Eagle member.

Graduating high school senior planning to pursue full-time studies at an accredited two- or four-year college/university in the fall following graduation OR high school graduate taking a gap year in the first year after graduation planning to pursue full-time studies at an accredited two- or four- year college/university in the fall following the gap year.
Scholarship Criteria

Applies for the first year of undergraduate work.

Non-renewable.
-
Funds paid directly to recipient’s educational institution.

Funds may be applied to tuition, books, and related instructional fees.
Program Funding – Through USAA Serves

Member, non-member and Club donations
-
Donation matching by USAA – dollar for dollar up to the approved yearly match cap.
Administration
-
Administered by the San Antonio Area Foundation (SAAFDN).

Applications reviewed and ranked by SAAFDN.

Ranking criteria established by the Golden Eagle Board:

Academic merit.
-
Extracurricular activities.
-
Community service.
Selection Process

Anonymous rankings reviewed by Golden Eagle Board.

Available funds considered.

Number of Scholarship recipients determined.
