About This Volunteer Opportunity

The San Antonio Humane Society (SAHS) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, no-kill organization that has served Bexar County and its surrounding areas since 1952. The SAHS shelters, medically treats, and rehabilitates thousands of dogs and cats every year. Many of the dogs and cats in our care have been abused, injured, surrendered by their owners, or found as strays. As a no-kill organization, every treatable pet in our care stays in our care until they find a home or necessary placement with another no-kill organization. No pet in our care is ever euthanized to create space. Thousands of dogs and cats in San Antonio and its surrounding areas are saved from euthanasia every year due to the mission and practices of the SAHS.
This volunteer opportunity is set up as a virtual DIY event that is pre-approved for teams to facilitate a volunteer event in their meetings. In order to capture volunteer hours automatically, you can click the duplicate button at the top of this with your specific date, where and time. The event will go in our queue for approval with a special link to share with your teammates.
How to Make it?
Next step is to purchase or gather supplies needed to create them. With the approval of the unit's leader, materials can be purchased in bulk using the unit's G&A dollars or the leader may personally pay for the items.
Note:This is a sustainability project so old clean t-shirts should be used and can be solicited from participating employees only for this project. Other supplies should NOT be paid for by employees and should NOT be reclassified to any philanthropic GLAC or UNIT codes. But employees are able to bring in old t-shirts.

You can drop off at a donation bin set up outside of their building or mail to their location. You can also check with your local animal shelter on their specific needs for this type of item. Bins in San Antonio are located outside for contact-less drop off at the SA Humane Society 4804 Fredericksburg Rd, San Antonio, TX 78229
